I have 2001 Bick Lesabre limited, has been a great car 285k . recently the car will just die as I am going down the road, will not restart. let it set for a couple of days and it will restart. I have replaced the crankshaft position sensor, MAF sensor which seem to be the biggest issue I have read about. Car will drive anywhere from 8 to 40 miles before it shuts off again going down the road. There does not seem to be any consistancy in the re-occurance, I have always taken great care of the car, while it is running it runs and idles great ,then just like someone snapped their finger it just shuts off. Anyone have any ideas ?

ignition control module, heats up and fails. if you have a heat gun you can carefully try heating it up and see if it stalls
