Default Engine stalls on drive, works in reverse....

Stalls when put on any forward gear, if Jacked up and put on drive it jerks unless i give it some throttle, if I press the brake when jacked up it stalls, it doesnt seem to shift into first gear, it feels like second or third top speed like this is about 35mph, it feels like is stuck in this gear

Reverse works fine without jacking up but "check engine" light comes on, i dont remember if it also happens on drive

Transmission fluid is almost full, on working level

Car only starts on park, not neutral but i dont think this is an issue, or is it ?

transmission vacuum modulator was tested

If I remove the transmission harness the problem is still the same, it doesnt seem to change anything...

Do you have any idea what'* happening?

I'm trying to find someone to scan the car, as I cannot do the paper clip trick to check for codes.

Is this on the 1991 Buick Century 3.1 V-6 ?

How many miles on it?

How many miles since the last transmission filter change?

How was the vacuum modulator tested?

It'* a 94 century, 3100 without MAP sensor, About 90000 miles, No idea if the last owner changed the transmission filter, but I havent...

A friend of mine that also owns a century, made a test blowing into it, not sure what he did... we also pulled one from his century and still had the same issue, we tried differents modulators so we dont think it'* the vacuum modulator.

Jacking up is taking it off the ground? Sounds like the torque converter may be locked up.

Yes, both front wheels off the ground,

Is there a way to test that ? or to unlock it ?

You need to throw a scanner on it. See if there are codes and what the TCC is doing.

90,000 miles and we don't know what'* in the pan? Time for a transmission service. Drop pan send us a picture of it, clean it up, change the filter, put it back together again, fill up appropriately, and try it out. Some say flush, I'm scared of it at this many miles with unknown damage and history. Not saying right or wrong, just saying where my opinion is on that.

These are known for eating TCC solenoids, maybe it needs a new TCC solenoid.

I finally found someone that could scan it, there are no errors from solenoids but he says the TCC is locked always, the computer shows all gears except first, whats funny is that, before he scanned we turn the car on and after a while, it went on drive and it didnt stall, but after turning off and on again it failed like always..

He said what you asked, check the filter see if the oil ok and what kind of stuff is in there, and probably have to change the solenoid or check the valve body.

I found pictures 3 of 4 look the same and one looks like a normal vvt solenoid, which one is it ?

Do the 3 that look exactly the same have the same function, like I can buy one and use it as shift or tcc?

That sounds more like a problem with the wiring.

That looks like a picture from a solenoid kit. I believe the three on top are interchangeable and the other one is TCC. Regardless of my beliefs, get the correct part numbers for your car, regardless of what they look like.
