Default Cabin Filter Champion Laboratories Inc.

I am trying to replace the 3 piece cabin filter in my Park Avenue and was going to use a NAPA/WIX one but both local stores were out. Autozone had an STP brand (CAF1705) in stock. In between attempts to get the filter installed (so frustrating) I internet searched it and found that STP is part of Champion Labs.

Also the Champion Labs website says that it is now part of Fram Filtration! Check out the brands listed in their website (at least as of today) - Mopar, Royal Purple, K&N, VW, TRD etc.! That is one heck of a merger. Champion Laboratories Inc. FRAM Filtration

I just can't keep up with all of these mergers and acquisitions. By the way the filter was made in China. If I bend it up anymore trying to get it in I'll have to buy a new one.

May be old news, but I didn't know it. I'm glad you posted this. So the folks who like Champion Oil filters under various store brands are buying Fram filters... Bobistheoilguy needs to do another oil filter test to sort out brands.

As for the cabin filters, I like the Purolator brand at Pepboys. The filter is stamped, "USA," and that'* good enough for me. My filter only folds over once at one end. Yours sounds more complicated. The last filter I replaced did NOT have the cut at the end to make it easier to fold and did not have the plastic strengtheners at the ends and at the cut. The framing seemed to be stronger, instead.

I like Purolator too. I wrecked the first one so I purchased a ACDelco CF101 Cabin Air Filter (like the original one in there). Plus I had the bright idea to have my 14 year old squeeze under there because he can see it and get both hands on it at the same time.
