I have decided to replace the compressor as well, I am waiting for a new condenser, also I will flush out the open lines and the evaporator, I have a new accumulator, do I need to put in a small amount of pag oil in the accumulator?

yes indeed and thank you, i know if i did not i would end up replacing the new compressor with another new compressor, Autozone has a canister spray gun that you hook up to your air compressor that you can fill with AC flush to do the evaporator and the lines, it was suggested in a video i looked at that a new accumulator also needs a small amount of pag oil, is that true?

thank you Mike, yes I agree, there has to be pag oil in the compressor, what i was referring was the video done by autozone, he had a new accumulator ( or drier) that he put oil in the accumulator as well, just wanted to know if this is a standard procedure for a new accumulator?

Typically, when a part is removed from the AC system, the old oil is drained out of THAT part and measured, then thrown out. What ever you measured taking out, you put back in with new. So, if you drained an ounce of old PAG oil out of your accumulator, then you will put an ounce of new oil into the accumulator when you install it. Same goes for a evaporator, condenser etc.
