Another question I have about my 2005 Buick Century, 3.1L V6, is about the cruise control. I recently installed a new multi-function switch (turn signal switch). The new switch seems to work fine, other than, when I'm using the cruise control and I engage the right turn signal, the cruise control kicks out (disengages). I can engage the resume button, and the cruise will re-engage and work fine. I can even leave the right turn signal engaged and hit the resume button and the cruise will re-engage. I can engage the left turn signal and the cruise continues to work just fine. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

I Am Guessing Its A Auto Zone POS I replaced mine when I had a century and everything worked fine until temp got below 50 degrees then every time I came out to a cold car and started the car the wipers would be running even with switch-off had to play with switch some times several minutes to get them to go off work fine other than below 50 degrees

BossHog39, you may be right. I actually bought the new switch from 1A Auto. I emailed them and they sent me another switch within 2 days. It may be another piece of crap, but they were very prompt in sending me a replacement part. I just hate that I've got to go through all that mess again, but, at least I learned a few things the first time around. Thanks for your reply.

I changed out the first multi-function switch that I was sent for the replacement the vendor sent me today. Once the changeout was complete, I took the car for a quick spin. The switch seemed to work fine, other than, when I changed the headlamps from low beam to high beam, I could hear and feel the switch click, but the headlamps would only flash bright. When I held the switch back, the headlamps would stay on high beam. Just great!. I tried several different times, but to no avail, the switch still wouldn't work properly. I go out tonight to move the car, as I had parked it in the back yard, due to us having our Christmas dinner at our house and we needed the extra parking space for guests, and when I moved the car and tried the switch again, it works just fine. I give up! Time will tell if the switch will last.

we have run into that problem with aftermarket switches on a few other GM vehicle when it comes to that multifunction switch its best to replace with AC Delco switch my boss'* 97 chevy truck I have replaced it 4 times since April he kept using the same switch since they was under warranty until last time he had enough and got an ac Delco this time no troubles since the switch in question was a duralast switch

So, I must confess, after some thought, and realizing what an idiot I really am, I'm pretty sure the reason why the bright lights weren't working yesterday was because it was daylight and I didn't turn the light switch on. SMH. I felt pretty stupid when I realized this. Driving the car home from work this evening (knock on wood) the lights and turn signals worked just fine, as did the cruise control.
