did a search on the entire site (including techinfo) before posting this, so if it was answered elsewhere, please give me a bit of slack
air comes out of the defrost and floor vents but not the dashboard vents. from what i read elsewhere, this is a vacuum issue. is it one vacuum line...where do i get at it? please don't tell me i have to rip the dash apart. i already spent two days doing that with my taurus to replace the heater core. messy messy messy :?

Check the black box to the left of the brake master cylinder. On the bottom should be two vacuum lines. Make sure both are connected.

What do you need the fender and door for? Curious as I thought you sold the Bonneville. If it is for a Bonneville I still have the RF door from my 1992 (which is the same until 1999 except for the lower moulding). $75 I pull it -you pick it up.
P.*. Don't cut the wiring harness when changing the doors. It is very easy to pull the harness out and re-fish it into the new door.

Um, I'm not so sure the 96-99 fender is the same as 92-95. Isn't the newer one metal?

The vacuum lines often become detached or compromised in-between the throttle body and the vacuum tank on the firewall. Listen for a hissing sound under the hood in that area with the engine on.

checked the interior vacuum lines completely (tore bottom of dash completely apart :? )
couldn't find the two lines outside...this is for my buick....just to clarify. i'll check again for the exterior two lines. as for the fender oleblueeyes...i need a pass..fender and door for my buick...you're right, the bonnie was totaled last year.

Can you see the line going between the throttle body and the vacuum tank in the engine bay?

i'm assuming that when you say there'* air coming out of th defrost and below, that it'* coming out at varying speeds with the fan? or is it just sort of coming out lackidazically?

sorry for the delay....web access has been limited for me lately...none of the vacuum lines were the problem...actually, i tore the underside of the dash apart and checked each line individually. i pulled a line (color coded), then wet my finger and stuck it over the end of the line...i would then shift the vents from floor, to mid, to windshield...when i felt scution, i marked down that line and its purpose. after doing this, i found out that black (i think) was the one that controlled the mid-range (vents) airflow. after messing with it and the little vacuum accumulator tank it was attached to (exclusive to each line), i determined that vacuum was not properly getting to that line. it has weak suction. i was able to fiddle with it and now the vents work...but it takes about 60 seconds for the air flow to switch to the mid-vents. basically, the little gadget that all the lines are plugged into behind the glove box isn't switching the vacuum properly. i am merely going to swap the mid-vent line with the floor line...for the summer....since i want cold air out of the vents...and switch it back for the winter (hot air from bottom rises). let me know what you think..i'll try to be better about checking the post. also, the fenders and doors are for my buick....so anyone got a great deal...let me know!

Under the hood--

follow the two small vacuum lines from the firewall toward the front of the car... you will find a sort of y splitter... check the lines around there and the splitter itself. I fixed a (mine sites off to the right of the engine but close enough to it to be affected by the heat)lesabre that had a corroded vacuum line right there, and my 94 bonny had that splitter valve melted through by the engine block
