After rack and pinion install 97 Skylark
Hi all Just did a rack and pinion on a 1997 Buick Skylark custom 2.4L engine Auto trans with column shifter. Installed it, did the system bleed. Fire it and all looked well no leeks no pump nose. Was going to go for a test drive then all of a sudden the shift lever was hard to move. For some reason felt like some kind of a drag on it. Before this it worked flawless. I parked it and called it a night. Any idea what would cause this? I’ll go through it tomorrow and see if I can find anything. I really took my time on this, Hate doing this kind of stuff twice.
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks for getting back to me on this. You where right, when the master cylinder was pulled back to remove the brake booster the brake lines relaxed a little and the shifting cable worked its way between the brake lines and the master cylinder. So when I reinstall the master this put the shifting cable in a bind. So I move the cable down under the master cylinder witch left the shifting cable free to move a litter everything was good. It’* the little things they can really mess us up. he heThanks for your help guys.
