Default Acceleration lag

2002 Buick Park Ave ultra
When stepping on gas pedal the first quarter of the pedal doesn't respond and then after pressing more it will rev up. Any ideas? Acceleration position sensor? Cam position sensor?

Put a scan tool on it and see what the TPS is doing. Or use a meter and do a sweep of the sensor.

So I just want to make sure I understand this: The first 25% of the accelerator pedal travel causes zero response. If you hold it at, let'* say, 20% all day, it won't accelerate at all?

Throttle position sensor? Maybe.

Probably not.

Is the check engine light on?

What codes does it have stored?

To respond to the quote replies.
No accelerator response for the first 20% of the pedal the it will kick in upon pressing deeper into the pedal.

If your engine has a squeal when flooring it, you may need a belt or tensioner for your supercharger. the tensioner OEM is pricy, but can be found cheaper. THe belt is easy to replace as well. If you have slippage, youll have inconsistent accelration. If you dont hear any weird noise (other than boost) when accelerating, youre likely all fixed and happy as can be and doing good.

The noise can be sometimes heard when letting off the throttle after pulling in boost as well

So you don't need to know how to sweep the sensor?
