AC vent problems
I believe I have a faulty vent actuator in my A/C system, but I want to verify which one. I have a 2004 LeSabre custom. The AC controller has two horizontal slide controls and some buttons, so I assume it has manual temp control.
I've been hearing some strange sounds from inside the dash, especially when I switch functions on my AC. Today, I noticed that there is no air coming from the dash vents, but there is air going to the floor or windshield. When I switch between DEF and Floor, or Bi-Level, I hear a loud noise like a gear is stripped. Temperature adjustment and recirculation options seem to work all right.
With three vents (floor, dash, windshield), is there one actuator that controls all three, or is there more than one? And what does "Bi-Level" do?
