Default 97 Century starts and dies

97 Century starts and dies - plugs and plug wires replaced. Air filter too.
Suspect fuel filter - where is it located? (have not been under car yet)
or perhaps fuel pump - need some trouble shooting ideas.

level of expertise - former military automotive mechanic and Chevrolet mechanic in the 1960s.

Unplug the maf sensor and give it a little throttle to keep it running for a minute. After that it should have learned it'* running on tables instead of actual readings. if that allows it to run, it'* most likely the maf.

You will also want to test the fuel pressure. That will tell you if it'* a filter or fuel pump.

I did disconnect the MAF sensor and determined the engine would run a bit smoother and just a little longer as I finally disconnected the harness which has a disconnect on the front bank center. After that the engine would rev higher when I gave it the gas but it still died within a minute. So its back to the filter and pump. I'm thinking disconnect the gas line at the filter (tank side) and tun the ignition key to the on position to verify pump flow. If I have flow, replace the filter, if not check for power to the fuel pump, if power replace pump, if no power check the circuit all the way to the ECU. Did I miss anything?

Pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator and let us know if there is any fuel in the line.

Or you could test the fuel pressure and save a lot of work.
