Default 94 Buick LeSabre Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hi,

My 94 Buick LeSabre has 101,000 miles. It has a constant rough idle and stalls after it has warmed up on hot days during or right after it has idles for a few minutes. Numerous parts have been replaced numerous times.

My question is about the fuel pressure regulator. When I remove the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator I can smell gas. Does this mean the fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel? Can this cause a constant rough idle hot or cold and make starting a bit longer than normal? Would this also cause a stall when the car is fully warmed up, on hot days, after it has idled for a few minutes?

Since owning this car it has had numerous parts thrown at it by dealers, Goodyear, Firestone, independent garages, etc., for a rough idle and stalling. It doesn't stall in cool weather, it only seems to be on hot days and only after it has warmed up and has idled for a few minutes.

Thank you for all the help answering my other posts.

If you smell gas, the FPR is bad. Replace it.
