dI understand there are three types of shocks on the Lucerne, I do not have the original spare tire cover board to see the spec sheet! I went to the dealer and had a build sheet pulled. I do not see a reference on shocks is there an easy way to ID them visually.
The issue I have is the back axle rides like a buck board, wondering if it is a shock issue or something else. I am thinking it may have air suspension similar to my 98 PA the has a compressor. Any ideas appreciated!

If it has air shocks and they are all the way deflated then it will ride hard for a while until the rubber bladder gets torn all up.

Get us pictures of the rear struts and the build sheet and maybe we can help figure it out.

It does have the same air shock setup as both my PA'* have. I pulled the 40a fuse it checked out Ok, so either the relay or the pump gave up the ghost! On my 97 I put the shock kit on. it raised the back end a bit more then I cared for. I am now a tad over 80 now I think my buddies shop will do the deed what ever it is..

On my Pk Ave the Original Air shocks lasted a long time, until the bladder was leaking air. I then tried new Delco air shocks that lasted only 2 years.
I finally ditched the air shocks completely, went to a Monroe coil over # 90007. These have been on the car for now 6 years.
Occasionally I do hear a slight spring noise from them, but overall they do provide a smooth ride.

Thanks that is the ones I put on the 98 PA, Jacked the back end up about 1-1/2" been on it for a little over a year still a bit to high. I will get a set and clip a coil see if I can get it level out

Soft Ride The posted photos will be confusing to many! The shot of the news ones are of the Oredy shocks which I just installed. Yet the undercarriage shot is in fact the Monroe 90007 shock which I installed on my 98 PA. The shot you posted of the 90007 is a mistaken post by several uninformed sellers. The Moroes jacked the back of my PA giving it a noticeable nose down attitude which I still hate though the ride is very good. This time around I bought the Oredy shocks for the Lucerne, the car sits level and the ride is great. I think both shocks are a good value, I used Monroes on my race cars they gave very good performance that is why they were put on my 98 PA. My take if you cart lots of folks in the back seat go Monroe, if you travel light go with the Oredy'*, dealers choice!!!
