2005 Buick Rendezvous 3.6 location
Why are we going after the PCM? Many times these modules are replaced which never had a problem.

Thank you so much. It'* really not the engine performance of any sort. A freakin' squirrel got into the engine compartment and chewed up a bunch of wires. At that point, the engine still ran good but the dash started spewing error messages and all the gauges stopped working. A local dealer fixed a majority of the wiring but the gauges still are not working except the speedo, that works now (that data feed from the BCM?). Dealer basically said that'* all they could do (great, thanks..). I'm thinking the data bus line from the PCM is still compromised somewhere. Dealer also installed a spare rebuilt dash panel I had that was supposedly programed for my VIN by DELPHI but I guess that could be an issue.
That'* correct. He'* blaming the rebuilt dash panel. I have the original I can send out to be eval'd to check it'* functionality. I think I found a company that does this as a business but open to any other opinions / suggestions.
Seems like a red herring to me.
1. Car works fine
2. Squirrel
3. Car sad
4. Fix some wiring
5. Car happy, gauges broken
6. Swap dash
7. Car happy, gauges broken
. . . right?
If so then there is no amount of dash swapping that will fix it. From what I know if this situation, more wiring needs to be fixed the rest of the way.

Anyway, the wiring is why I asked for the PCM location, to check the connections between the dash & PCM, looks like all the gauge etc data with exception of the speedo comes to the dash via the PCM. I figured this studying the wiring diagrams for the vehicle. Hoping the to find another compromised wire (*).
I would like to say this has been a great vehicle for us, over 220K and still runs excellent; everything (besides the dash now) still works; well the power mirror are a little sticky but heck, not too bad.
