I'm having trouble blowing driver'* side turn signal/DRL on my 2005 Buick Century. I recently replaced the turn signal switch and that worked for about 2 month, but, tonight on my way home from work, it blew another. Same bulb every time. I also replaced the lamp housing not too long ago. Do I need to check some grounds somewhere? If yes, can someone tell me where to find the grounds? I can trace the ground from the battery to the frame, but where might there be other grounds that I need to check. Thanks so much for any help. It is greatly appreciated.

The bulbs keeps burning out?

Yes, bulbs keep burning out. Only the driver'* side turn signal/DRL lamp. It is the amber colored bulb. Last night, on my way home, when I gave a left turn signal, the turn signal indicator blinked fast, as it does when a bulb has burned out. I get in the car this morning to go to work, and now it'* working fine.

So it didn't burn out?

Not sure how to explain it, other than, The bulb element is burned out (smoked). I've had this problem several times and am not sure what'* causing it. I've read that sometime a loose ground will cause this. I was wondering where the ground for the lighting assemblies was located. I can trace the main ground from the battery, and will check it, but wasn;t sure if there were other grounds that need to be checked also. Thanks for your help.

Was the problem there before replacing the housing?

Yes, the turn signal/DRL was burning out quite often. There was a connector on the lamp housing that was melted. I replaced the entire light assembly, as it was just as cheap to replace the whole assembly as opposed to replacing individual connectors.

There'* only a few things that will make bulbs fail prematurely. Quality of the bulb, erratic voltage changes or bad ground or B+.
