2001 Lesabre - Ignition control module
Hi everyone
before year ago , I replaced the Ignition control module (ICM) and the 3 coils on it (all the parts was original from AC-delco) . And I kept the old one to reserve . I knew that the weak point of the GM 3800 is the ICM and those coils .
after 10 months the ICM (the new one) goes bad , I replaced it with the old one that I kept and it start working fine until yesterday ! Again , the ICM goes bad . Now , I bought a new one (AC-delco) and put it and it works fine .
why the ICM goes bad so quickly ? It is not a cheap part ...
I did something wrong ?
please help me

Yes to the dielectric. Clean where it makes contact with the block then add the grease. That'* where the module gets it ground. Also, make sure the ground to the engine block is clean and tight.
