How old is the coolant? You may want to try a coolant system flush.

240 on a gauge or a scanner? Our gauges aren't the most accurate and scanning may show that the temp is around 230F. In traffic that is where the fans are programmed to run in high speed mode.

fins and coil look clean. read 240 deg. on my scanner. Also noticed that when I shut it off it seemed to bubble back into reservoir. This worries me!!! Any suggestions need help. Could this be head gaskets?????

You are on the right track. HG'* are very uncommon. Meaning you have a better chance of driving off a cliff, getting struck by lightening and married all at the same time.

Tried new radiator cap and thermostat and this did not help. Still running HOT. Must be head gaskets. Anyone know what this might cost????
