2001 Buick PA rear shocks stuck in high position
In Oct 2015, my right rear shock went bad. I replaced the rear shocks with Monroe Max-Air Air Shock Absorber
Part No. MA822.
However, rear of the car stayed stuck in high position.. much higher than the rear.
The compressor kicks on shortly after the comes on. I replaced the sensor guide arm with a used one from Pull-a-Part.
I checked the hoses to the pump and found they were dry rotted, so I replaced them.
Still the car stays stuck in high position. I've just been too busy and too cheap to take to a shop.
The other day I hit a bad bump and now hear an extra bump in the back right when I hit a really bad bump.
So now I need to replace them, but thinking of going with the air conversion kit shocks - Monroe 90007 Rear Air to Load Assist Shock Conversion Kit.
But see lots of comments to stay with Air shocks.. but just tired of the car being stuck in high.
A couple of questions:
1) should I go with the conversion kit?
2) Will the conversion kit shocks cause the car rear to drop to "normal" levels.
3) the recommended rear strut mounts are Westar ST 2998. However, they only work for Buick PA models WITHOUT Without Electronic Adjustable Suspension.
I called the Buick Dealer and my PA has FE1 suspension. I've searched online but can't find. Is this considered an Electronic Adjustable Suspension?
thanks,
Tim
