The big question is how do I remove the sun visors to drop the headliner to expose the sunroof switch? There are no screws exposed on the brackets holding up the sun visors. I'm assuming that once I see the sunroof switch it will be easy to pop out.

The sunroof switch is the last thing that goes in. The metal clips that hold it usually break when you try and get it down. Then it'* a simple plug in and push back in.

I'm about to swap mine out as well. Not looking forward to it. There is no easy way.

See the ring mark around the bezel. It'* the last thing to go in after the headliner.


It'* probably like the console cig lighter in the fsm it says "try this tool, after that fails, sell customer new one"

So, I don't have to remove the headliner to replace the switch? Just pry it out, breaking the clips and push the new one in?

Yes to the procedure on the switch.

I like to think I've worked on cars enough not to need a procedure for much. I had to look up the procedure on how to remove a sun visor. It'* complicated and you'll hate the design, designer, and probably need new visors when you do get one out.

See the slot in your visor where it goes into the roof? You are supposed to pull the visor toward the window, insert the perfect sized screwdriver (fsm says screwdriver) into that slot and move the visor toward the windsheild til it engages. Then push further and the screwdriver disengages the piece holding it up.

What really happens. The plastic either breaks or marrs up and you see it. The visor stays in the headliner and pisses you off.

I'd suggest a trip to a junkyard for practice before you try and take the ones out of your own car.

I figured that was the procedure, I got to the "Oh Oh this feels like way too much pressure" point and stopped before breaking or stripping it out.
