Default 2000 Lesabre hard shifting AGAIN HELP !!!

Ok I bought this car in June ith 25k on it and a week later the dreaded hard shifting thru all gears. I added seafoam and no help..Took it back to the dealer 1811 code...They chgd the valve body and epc solenoid and it was fine for about 15k miles then abut once a month the hard shifting is back thru all gears, shut it off and restart and its fine and nay not happen for a month.

It did it tonight and ts 22 degs here and the car was not even uo to temperature...I love this car but how do I solve this ??

Check your mounts. They may be getting worn.

same exact thing happened to me. even replaced the solenoid first. but i turned out those hard shifts ruined my torque converter, which in turn ruined my clutches. a 3k tranny build later i wished i had a tech look at it :/

im not trying to scare you but i think i would have saved a ton of cash if i had caught the torque converter issue making the tranny slip/ causing hard shifts

naw it isnt the mounts, again this car only has 40k on it ! Also you can hear the pump whine when it happens so I know its the tranny and then you shut it off and restart and its gone...it may not do it for a month then it comes back...Someone said they instal a shift kit and it firms up the shift so the epc desnt see any slippage and that cures 90% of the time ??

It does tend to cure the problem. But you say there'* a whine when it happens, which has me thinking a mechanical problem. Perhaps a problem in the diff. Dropping the pan will tell you a lot. There should be nothing there.

here is what happens and why you get the whine;
the tranny senses some delayed ( slippage) shfting, like .6 seconds or something, it then trys to protect the ckutches and the tranny by going into hi pressure, hence the whine is the pump and the hard shifts are a result of the hi pressure...usually the epc and valve body update cures it...mine it did not...im wondering if there is a short or something. I just scanned for the 1811 code but if its there my scanner is not picking it up
