I haven't heard of one needing to be replaced. Are you talking about the neck where you put in the gas or the hose that goes from the neck to the tank?

I'm talking about this part. The problem I have is that the fuel cap was sticking onto the opening. A "friend" of mine (soon to not be a friend) sanded the inside of the opening a little too well and now the cap will not seal correctly. By that I mean it will just spin around in the opening and no longer clicks and can be pretty easily pulled off.
I own that same make and model. When I bought the car needing significant work I bought the factory manuals for it and fixed it up. You want to buy a set of manuals for your car?

Thank you for supplying that information. I figured it would be pretty straight forward. What has me concerned is the slightly larger part on the end which goes into the tank. Almost like a grommet type seal. I'd hate to tear the old one out and run into an issue putting the new one in. Having had this car for almost 14 years there'* not much that I can't fix on it. I'd buy repair manuals for it but most from Chilton or Haynes are pretty vague these days.

You know what I just now realized? I bought the wrong model year. I just seen this is the 2001 set and not 2000. I used these to fix several things on my car and everything was fine. I think this set covers everything in the 2000 just fine.
If you want these I would sell them for $150 plus shipping. I bought them for 180 plus ship in August.
