1997 Century Stalls

1997 Century Stalls
I have a 97 Century, old lady owned, under 100K miles. It recently did the, good old, 3.1 coolant dump. I pulled the top end off and replaced all the gaskets. A full head set. The car started and runs just fine until it comes up to operating temp. Then it shuts off, instantly. Any attempt to restart sounds like a car with switched plug wires. Spitting through the exhaust and some, occasional, moments where it seems as if it might start. Once it cools off, it will start again and run beautifully until it gets warm. I have triple checked every connection and all of the wires and hoses are where they belong. I don't want to start throwing money at it, replacing sensors, etc. without good cause. Many online "experts" have suggested the temp sensor might be bad. It seems to be OK as the dash gauge works but, I am old school and I know that these sensors all serve more than one purpose. What purpose is a mystery to me. My problem does seem temperature related, so should I wager 20 bucks on a temp sensor or do any of you geniuses have a better idea. Help an old man out. I'm an analog guy in a digital world

If it wasn't stalling before the work was done, you have to recheck your work again.....I don't think 1997 has two coolant sensors, so if you have a good gage reading, it should be good....just the black and yellow harness going to the coolant sensor under outlet of thermostat housing....the older vehicles had the other sensor on the opposite side in rear of head, with a single green wire....pretty sure that was just for the gage....

That seems to be good advice, on the surface. I have spent two days, under the hood. I have had the upper plenum off twice, the injector rail assembly once, The coil pack a few times. I can enumerate every electrical connector on the car, every hose, etc. Everything is connected. Every one of them has been rechecked and wiggled. There is nothing left to check. It is dark and almost 11 PM here. I will go down to the shop and recheck the whole thing again tomorrow but my confidence level is way down
