Default 1998 PA brake ??

My 98 Pa seems to require more brake pedal pressure then it did, no apparent vacuum leaks. The brakes are fairly new under 10k, it seems as if the booster is not supplying as much boost. What should I be checking out, car has 97,000 miles on it.

How much more brake pressure than before? Like twice as much or a little more or ten times as much or . . . ?

Did this start gradually or suddenly?

What kind of old brake pads were on the car 10,000 miles ago?

What kind of brake pads went onto the car 10,000 miles ago?

Were front and rear done at the same time 10,000 miles ago?

I would say a about 25-30% more then my Lucerne or Sub it does stop fine. My 97 PA was just like the Luce and Sub

Not sure, wife'* car though I think gradually as she did not notice.

Premium have been using this place for 20 some odd years, they guarantee everything for a year. Though I get super mileage out of pads usually 50-60k mi, I anticipate and get off the gas early having driven tractor trailer for quite a few years.

Answered in last question.

Always complete parts are cheap me and my family are not replaceable!

Thanks a bunch for your reply!

If you can get the abs to activate on pavement using moderately heavy foot you are not going to put your family in jeopardy.

How about compared to this car prior to noticing the issue?

I know it was like the others a month or so back, instead of the lighter feel before it needs to be leaned a bit. But stops really well no frights!

This is all very subjective . . . but if I had to guess I'd guess that the pads got cooked really well on some long (possibly downhill) stops from high speed.

All flat land and she drives like the older lady that she is, her 98 PA only has just under 100k. Her longest run is 13 mikes @ 60 when she goes to church on her own.

Well there goes that.

Still, that'* what it sounds like to me.

I probably should have asked sooner: Have you checked brake fluid level?

An Add on! Rotors are nice and clean no oscillation when braking, wondering if a booster can be lazy. It is due for an oil change will pose the question there.
