1994 Buick Regal Low Coolant Light is on
Hey everyone, just a disclaimer this is my first car and its the first time working on a car by myself so pls excuse any stupid questions
(my knowledge is still basic)
Car is a '94 Regal with the 3800 v6. The low coolant light sometimes comes on, my coolant level is fine, and its not overheating there are no leaks from the coolant system. What do i need to do to fix this problem?
I looked in the coolant recovery tank and the coolant looks brown-ish? I read another post on here and someone ended up fixing the problem by cleaning the recovery tank and refilling it.
My question is, can i just pump out the brown looking coolant from the recovery tank, then replace it with new coolant? Or do i have to flush the whole system? Thank you in advance for your help....

That color is the tank and not the fluid. The sensor is in the top of the rad.

It is probably a bad coolant level sensor, or maybe a problem with wiring going towards that sensor. It is in the location indicated in carfixer007'* post above ^^^^^^^
First, from that you have described, this is a sensor issue, not a coolant issue.
I would start by checking the sensor and wiring that runs to it, and see if there'* anything obvious going on such as damaged wires, unplugged connector, residue from a leak, etc.
Welcome aboard!
