Default '06 Lucerne Driver'* power seat adjuster

Hopped into mom'* '06 Lucerne this morning and discovered that the driver'* side power seat does not adjust up/down at the front...... all other actions do work, but the front does not....when I actuate the switch I hear the motor running, but the seat does not move...... is there any way to repair just that action without the expensive replacement of the entire adjuster??

having not taken apart one before sounds like there is a gear broke if you can hear the motor. you will have to take it apart and see. could be something at the junk yard to replace it with

I am going to take seats out, but if All directions work but the front up/down, then motor is fine.
