When I try to start the car using the remote start it cranks for a period of time but does not start. Using the key works fine. It has worked in the past but just stopped working this fall.
Any ideas wha I need to do to fix it?

Is your service engine soon light on? My parents have a 2009 Impala and said it wouldn't start with the remote when the ses was on due to a bad gas cap

mine did that because it had the ses but it wouldnt crank at all, the lights just came on. did you try the other remote?

looking through the drawings i dont see anything that would be easy to check, the majority of the things are the same for the key and remote start. there is a switch, wires and fuse for hood open make sure those are good. but the fact that it cranks at all would make me believe its the bcm, but thats a complete guess, and i have no idea how to test the bcm for something like that.

No everything else is normal.
