this is some interesting reading...... Today i had my gxp radio on while i was installing a radiator into my dodge intrepid and the battery was really low and had to be jumped!!!! Im hoping it was just the radio (factory monsoon radio) that made it go dead and after the drive home it charged enough to start again tomorrow and be ok... But if not i'll either get a AC delo from the local GM dealership or go to auto zone and get a Duralast gold 3yr free /8yr prorated battery... for &135

Research some threads, but you will find that all batteries spec'd for your car will perform the same way. Given that, brand is literally meaningless and the fact that there are only a few battery manufacturers in existance. They just slap different stickers on them.

Sam'* Club had the Energizer for $100. Proper battery with vents and on the high end of CCA. My wife said, "Look. A bunny battery for the Bonne". I gave her one of those "that'* not even funny" looks.

You need the specific battery for the GXP. It inside the cabin under the rear seat and needs the holes for the OEM vent tubes to fit in. You don't want to be breathing battery fumes. Mine needs new also. It works fine day to day, but like yours, it goes down quickly if any draw before you start. Autozone carries it and several members have said it work well. Where I'll be going. Alot cheaper than Delco. Which is getting weak at 5 years old.

I agree but only the stealership sells the proper Delco battery with warranty and has the proper dimensions. Interstate has 2 batteries that fit the Bonneville but only one is the proper size the other one is bigger and needs a special venting kit.
I went with the Delco, the original Delco lasted 7 years so that is good enough for me and I did not have to change a thing a perfect replacment.

The Duralast from Autozone is the same specs as the Delco and is warranty for 3 years.

Good for Duralast but my choice was Delco, the original lasted 7 years so I do believe they are good a good battery.

I'm not saying they are not a good battery, I just don't buy OEM parts because they cost too damn much for the same thing. Everything I've ever bought from O' Reilly is either Lifetime warranty or its at least a longer warranty than OEM.

I say whatever works for you but I did want a proper vented battery and none of this Optima stuff. Have a great day and a better one tomorrow.
