I wish I would have waited in buying the GXP and opted for a DTS or the new STS, & my wife wanted a 300C real bad (I couldn't lower myself to drive a Mopar even if it is based off the MB E class) and she didn't want to spend the extra money (as she drives it anyways, most the time) so we settled on the GXP. We had also looked at the Park Ave'*, but those were too old farty for her. The dealer was glad to part with the car (small town guy in a rural community) so I thought got a pretty good deal. My wife likes it, but this GXP (or the Cadillacs for that matter) doesn't hold a torch to that 300C in sheer power, at least from what I could tell in a test drive.

Default 300C / STS / GXP

I agree - I just couldn't drive a Mopar. My mom was an '00 SSEi owner (now my daily driver) and when she started shopping she didn't bother looking at the 300C. Personally, I think its hard to compare the mid $30k Chrysler to a $60k 1SG V8 STS. They are just two different vehicles aimed at two different markets. The power and handling of the STS is excellent, even though it may not be the fastest in straight line -- but wait until the STS-V rears its face as an '06 . I drove a CTS-V and it was a very nice automobile. Wanted to make me trade my '00 WS6 for it but just couldn't bring myself to do it with that hefty $52k price tag -- I love the GXP'* but she said 'it was the same car she had' so she opted for a Caddy. Since I have gotten the SSEi it has about 70k on it and I have added 18" GXP wheels and 15% Johnson Window film. I've fixed a few nit-noy problems with it but overall very satisfied.

Cadillac has really came a long way in the past 5 years with the Sigma platform. GM should applaud themselves for that.
