Default Steering column problem?

I have a 2005 Bonneville GXP with 13,000 miles on it. I do like the car alot, but I have had it back to the dealer 6 times since I bought it in December 2005 for many issues.
As of late, I have noticed that the steering wheel feels clunky and loose when going over bumps and going around sharp corners. I can't help but feel that I may be having a problem with the steering column. Has anyone else had a similar experience/issue with their car?
Thanks for the help!

BrightonBonneGXP. it sounds like your Intermediate steering shaft is going.
heres the link to the discusion in Northstar section

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=47310

And theres a sticky about it in the 2000-05 section. It'* a common problem and get it in to the dealer while it'* still on Mr. Goodwrench.

Here'* the TSB# and desciption
Component Description:
1. STEERING Bulletin Number: 010232001F
Bulletin Date: FEB 2006
Vehicle: 2005 Pontiac Bonneville
Summary:
CLUNK FELT/NOISE HEARD FROM STEERING COLUMN, STEERING GEAR AND/OR FRONT OF VEHICLE DURING TURNING MANEUVER AND/OR STEERING WHEEL ROTATION. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10019516 )

All known TSB'* , numbers for dealer reference and descriptions are listed in the Northstar General Info sticky at top of page. Whenever a problem arises, thats a good place to start.

Thanks for the reply guys. I am going to take it to the dealer this week as I have a bunch of other warranty work. The link to the forum was very helpful. I will let you know if they try to pawn that "majic lube" on me or if I can push them into installing a new shaft. Stay tuned..........

Personally if they can lube mine and fix it without ripping my car apart thats fine with me.

I did make a trip to get my steering column fixed today. You guys were right, GM'* fix is a majic lube that they put somewhere into the steering column. The clunk went away, but the dealer could not guarantee that it would not come back. I hope it comes back before I run out of my warranty as I don't want to replace the part myself.
Thanks again for the feedback.

I got the "magic lube" about 10k miles ago and no sign of the noise yet. I think with the TSB and all the policy is if you've had it fixed once under warranty if it comes back they will fix it again free even if its out of warranty.
