no owners manual
I just purchased a 05 gxp without an owners manual. I noticed a button in the trunk that says air. does anyone know what this is or what it does. Also, any suggestions on the best place to get a manual. Should I go to the dealer?

that is an outlet for the onboard air compressor. if you hook a hose up to it, you can fill your tires, or anything else that needs air. beware, it takes a good 5-10 minutes to properly inflate a tire. its more for show & emergencies.

Here'* an option as well...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...em310008466201
The 2004 has Gen 5 OnStar and the 2005 has Gen 6.x OnStar. Otherwise the GXP'* are identical vehicles. Since the OnStar documentation is a different document, you can also use the 2004 manual if you don't care what the cover says. There are quite a few inexpensive 2004 manuals listed on eBay.

the free way to get a model year specific owner'* manual
Go to https://www.mygmlink.com/main/US/en/pontiac/home
Create an account. Register your vehicle with the VIN. Then, click on "Vehicle Home," and upload or select a picture of your car and name your car. On the left menu, select "glovebox" and get the entire owner'* manual on PDF instantly.
I usually use this web based manual over the printed manual in the car because it'* more easily searched.
You can keep your repair history here, log your OnStar and XM account numbers, other stuff. I have my GM Auto Club membership information here.
