Hello fellas,
I'm out of town & when I started my gxp this morning it gave me a low coolant warning
I know I had a faulty sensor awhile ago that was replaced by GM and I'm wondering if its faulty again
I checked the coolant level I can only see one line, doesn't say if that'* cold or hot.
It was under that line by half an inch
I'm about to hit the highway soon so thought I'd ask to be safe
No overheating

I'll post for you even though I have no clue how to fix it! I would say let the motor cool, open the radiator and if it'* got fluid to the top and u see fluid in the resaviour then u should be fine till you can get back to the dealer! But hell, I could be wrong!

what he said. the sensor on my bonnie is half to 3/4 the way up on the rad so if you open the rad cap and its full there is something wrong with the sensor or wiring

I and alot of GXP owners get that coolant level warning. It doesn't take much to set it off. Especially when it first starts. Merely restinmg it in the DIC will have it not trip again till another restart. I keep mine full to the top of the translucent white part of the reservoir and it doesn't trip then....That said, Some GXP'* have had coolant crossover line leaks so if it constantly is having to be replenished, something really is wrong. This belongs in the N* section. It is a problem inherent to them. Moved.

Mine did that twice since iv owned it... and both times all i did was take off the cap to check the level and even thought it was a tab bit low i still added a little bit to it and put the top back on and it has been fine ever since...

I was having the same problem for the past year and would top up the coolant every few months. As Venom suggested my crossover gaskets were done. Gaskets have been replaced and am not having any problems. Also at the same time had my oil cooler lines and transmission cooler lines custom made to hydraulic hoses and fittings. Tired of the leaks!

i just did my cooler line few weeks ago and i can swear they are leaking again! i'm gonna take a closer look at it when i have time

as for coolant it did this few times before, next time shes going into GM im gonna point it out. call me newbie but whats a crossover gasket?

Mines done this a few times as well. Dealer claimed the fitting was loose, I say horsepucky. I've added about a pint of coolant over the life of the vehicle. So long as I've checked coolant level, and the temp is normal, I feel I'm ok. Been about a year since last time warning flashed.
