Default Is my HUD Dim? Or is it just me?

I brought my GXP in and told them the HUD was dim, but they are saying its normal operation. Basically it works fine at night (set to full bright), but on a sunny day you can barely see it much less use it. I know I used to use it during the day when I first got the car, but now it is a nighttime only feature.

The dimmer **** seems to work fine – no flickering or anything like that. It just doesn’t get bright enough.

Anyone else have this problem? I did a search and it seems like there are some complaints about brightness. But I feel pretty certain that mine used to be brighter. Sure maybe on a real sunny day it would be a little hard to see, but not invisible.

It'* likely this is normal. This is a common problem with the 2K+ units (not sure whether it goes back further). I know in prior model years people have said it was much brighter. I notice the same with mine.

Default Laughed out loud

I laughed out loud at your title....

Mine does not get as bright in the GXP as the one in the SSE does, but I attributed it to the fact that I pulled the DRL fuse and that somehow doing so affected the light sensor. It was much brighter in the daytime before I pulled the DRL fuse (#30).

Thanks, a little humor helps the medicine go down...

Well thanks all, I guess this is just the way it is, so no point in making a stink on this one. I did have the DRL fuse in when I checked the brightness, as I wanted everything back to stock for the trip back to the dealer.

I can barely see mine in the daytime. My 95 is about the same brightness but the
numbers are "fatter" in the display (larger style font) so it is easier to see in the
sunlight than the newer bonne.

A few over the last 2 years have posted an issue with this, Mine is very bright as others have so stated, so generalizations here Arent correct. I got lazy over the winter months last year and it appeared to be dimming. A simple dusting in the hollow of the dash cured the problem.
