How does an Aurora compare with an SSEi?
 

Unfortunately, I have never driven a Northstar powered car. However, my interest lies particularly with the Aurora. Since the Aurora and the SSEi are often pinned against each other – perhaps since they are similar in image, price, and performance – I am curious as to how they differ from one another when you are behind the wheel? For instance: Does one feel like it has more power than the other? Does one handle better than the other?

Also, aside from difference behind the wheel, what do people think about some of the other differences? Is the interior of one appointed better than the other? Does one appear sportier than the other? Is one more of a status symbol than the other? Of course, I have my own opinions regarding these issues; I am wondering if people care to share their opinions with me before I share mine.

I think I'm the only one on here who has owned both cars, 96 Aurora to an 01 ssei. 89 bonne's was only an se.but still has much to contribute :D

Well In a nut shell there both Damn nice cars! Chocholate and vanilla type of decission. If your want to know more, read many of my posts on that thread mentioned :D

Yes I do miss my Aurora some, It was so nice and cozy inside with the wood dash kit. . Other than that, miss other things about it too. :cry: But that's OK :D Cause there's things I love about my SSEi that the Aurora didn't do for me such as the LOW END TORQUE BABY!!!! :shock: Light'em up. :shock:

To answer your questions further Galaxy, I believe the Aurora is more a status symbol car, its a "fluff" car, I want to bring out the power that is all bottled up inside, and it definitely has a nice suspension, steering and ride of a Bonneville...but hang on, before I rile feathers....the options found on the 95-99 Aurora are now found on the 2000+ Bonneville. Pontiac finally learned its lesson after Olds bit the dust.

The Bonneville is far more aggressive....both with torquey power and aggressive styling. The Bonnie looks like a sport sedan...the Aurora really doesn't. However, the interior of the Aurora was WAY ahead of its time, and now the rest of the lineup (at GM) is finally starting to catch up.

Frankly the $10 500 I paid for my Aurora to get what I have in a 96 beats spending double that on a 2000+ Bonneville. It made sense to me at the time of purchase :wink:

Hey my 93 dash was WAY ahead of it's time too. The more i look at 87-91 they look better but those steering wheel buttons don't look usable at all!

i found a 96 roara 4 5995 with 99,000

*smells a good deal* check that baby out, thats cheap for a luxury car w/ a V8. PLus, im sure TaylorD and Jim are a little lonely in here. (I really dont belong :oops: )
