Default GXP Test Drive

I'm in Atlanta, Ga. I've seen prices range from 35,014 to 39,000. I test drove one for 38,900 and it was pretty impressive. Its take off was similar to the SSEI, but I do believe that it pulled with a little more power that wasn't willing to quit. Add the chrome wheels and it could've tempted me. That and the gas mileage makes it impossible to forget my SSEI. Good ride though. I had the sales rep pinned to his seat. He let me push pretty hard! :P

That'* pretty cool the salesman let you drive the car hard. I'm sure it was quite a ride.

Default Oh Yeah!

Oh yeah! The only negative was that the sales rep had the car set in km/n so I thought I was going faster than I was, but I was still going pretty fast after the calculations. He drove first and almost had me convinced that he was driving at insane speeds, but I knew it just didn't feel right. I made him feel stupid by finally pressing the e/m button and bringing the speedometer back to reality. Great ride though. Really good brakes!

Default GXP coming to Germany

I ordered a GXP a month ago for delivery here in Berlin, Germany. I should have it by the end of May or early June. I am very curious to see how it performs against the Mercedes, Audi'*, and BMW'* over here on the autobahn. I oodered it with all the options, even the XM radio as I will bring it back to the states eventually. My one concern is the gear ratio. With a reported 3.70 final drive ration it will have good low end pull but the top end might suffer. Does anyone know if there is a governor on the GXP? I had an SSEi here last year and it had an electronic cutoff at 130 mph. You could tap the accelerator and get to maybe 135 but that was it. It can be embarrassing to blow by a little Ford Fiesta and then 10 min later see him pass you at 140 because he has no governor.

Speed limiters are based on your factory tires. Probably be just under the tire'* rating. But you can try to remove them....

Default Test drive

I got the GXP up to about 80 or 85 mph before I slowed down. The salesman told me before I drove that any speeding violations were my complete responsibiity. He said that was his spill for all GTO, GXP, or GTP test drivers. I pulled out of a parking lot on a back road in Kennessaw, GA and he let me hit it real good. Believe me! The brakes work really well!

Default GXP governor

According to Pontiac, 0-60sex in 6.5sec and according to car mags and websites top speed is 135mph. Pontiac didn't state top speed.
