gauge?
has any one had a problem with their gauges? my problem is with my temp gauge. it sticks and doesnt reset. i talked to a friend at gm and he said they have had problems with 03 and newer. said it was the frist bonnie that he heard of. just wondering if anyone else had the problem or just me? and if there is a fix without changing the full cluster? :(
I haven't had a problem with mine. These are servo motors. There were also known problems with earlier clusters chattering. These were fixed somewhere around 2003 IIRC. The redesigned part is supposed to be tighter (in the gear assemblies) and therefore make less noise. This may be the cause of their "new" problems and sticking. It'* unlikely you can fix this without sending in your cluster. You may be able to find a used cluster somewhere that you can take parts from. Otherwise, I can pretty much guarantee you can't buy new replacement parts. There are several places that will repair these either through your local dealer or sending it in yourself. If you want names, I can post a few.

EDIT: Here'* the thread that I hijacked to discuss mine.

2005 GXP, Coolant gauge is sticking at times, seems to be after about a 2-hour drive with lights on, when vehicle is shut off and then restarted gauge is pointing at reverse, I have scanned the vehicle with a tech-2 and no overheat, coolant is in the 200 degree range, gauge is definently reading false, also the speedo sticks a little around 65-70 mph after the same amount of time, taking her in tomorrow, still have warranty left, 28,000 miles, gm certified car, 3-month 3,000 bumper to bumper then 5-100,000 after from original in service date. I will let you know what they do.
I am running a GXP cluster and don't have those problems. It was removed from an '04. However, I am having compatibility problems using it in my '00 SLE. If anyone could help it would be appreciated... It is posted in Electrical section.

My temp guage is not stuck, its broken entirely. It looks like someone just took it and spun it 90 degrees to the right, so it reads my temperature along the shifter indication column on the dash.
