Default Farewell GXP

Traded in my 05 Bonnie GXP yesterday which I purchased brand new. I have been disappointed with the vehicle since the day I drove it off the Dealers lot. On the way home and with only 22 miles on the GXP'* odometer I discovered the rotors were warped. My 02 Bonnie SLE, which I also purchased new, put my GXP to shame. My GXP always reminded me of a want to be Caddy Seville, like GM came up with this half baked idea since they killed the Olds Aurora. My GXP had 45000 miles on it and during those miles I replaced the front wheel hubs twice, replaced the front rotars twice and lost count of the fog light replacements. The trunk became a small pond several times due to a lack of factory sealant in the rear area of the trunk and the sunroof drain lines disconnecting also helped in flooding the trunks spare tire well. Oh and how about that head gasket leak and motor mount issues that are prone to Northstar engines, not a cheap fix, so i decided to trade. My 02 SLE has the 3.8, and has over 120000 on it and has never late me or my family down.

These GXPs seem to be really hit or miss for people. Strange...

What did you pick up instead?

Good luck.
I imagine that more of us will slip away as our cars are now 5 & 6 years old.
I continue to have a love/hate relationship with my GXP as it approaches 120,000 miles.
I've had 3 of the 3.8L cars in the past. The 3.8L was a great motor.

Been one of the lucky ones myself. Whatever it takes to keep mine running well, I will do. For it'* bad points, it also has a some very strong ones. It'* a very unique style in a large sedan, and limited. Now 6 years old, it not only still looks current, but people to this day ask me just what the car is and how good it looks. You either Love them or hate them. I guess you can tell which side of that fence I'm on. No regrets with my purchase.

I'm on Bonneville #3 now. 99' SLE, 03' SLE, and 03' SSEi. All great cars.
