Cool Electrical issues: Windows, Locks, Radio

I'm about to take my GXP to the dealer if I cannot figure this out. When I get out of the car with the ignition off, the radio stays on. Only sometimes.

While driving down the road the window switches quit working. If I shift to N turn off the car and start it again they start working. Every time this fixes it.

My remote will work perfectly most of the time. Sometimes it will only unlock the driver door and then is unresponsive. Once I'm inside the door lock switch on the door will not work. Neither will any other door switch. I need to lean over to manually unlock the doors for passengers.

Hopefully all these issues are related. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

I know the radio, windows, and moonroof will still operate with the key off untill the drivers door is opened. Its programmed to do that. The rest is kinda wierd. Has the Drivers door window been left open to the rain?

I don't remember getting anything wet. Also when I turn off the car, open the door and the radio stays on. I turn it off but the clock stays on. Everything still has power, like the windows. Then when I close the door and walk away, lock the doors with the remote, I can hear the noise of the lock motors but the horn does not honk like normal. Is there a door switch inside the door. Could there be issues with the BCM?

Ya, but the switch is suppose to turn everything off when the door is opened. Could be thats where the part of the problem is starting from? Never heard of this problem before. But as these GXP'* age, I'm sure we will get a better idea. I'm interested in what the Dealer finds and what, if any codes are thrown.

Sounds like a odd corrosion problem. Has it always done this or did it just start?

Since you said that none oof the other door switches work when you unlock the doors by remote someitmes it could be the drivers door module, all the other door modules use it as a gateway to the BCM

The problem has been around for about a year. It comes and goes. Now it has been pretty often. When the radio stays on when the door is open and the key is out, no other doors kill the radio either. I think usually any door opening should kill the radio. The driver door module sounds like a valid cause to me. I was unaware that there was door modules. I didn't get to the dealer yet, I am hoping to find something on my own without having to pay the dealer.

Given that non of the doors will cause it to go off and loose power, Id be inclined to think itd be the BCM or something similar, any door being opened should shut it off, not good odds that all the modules/switches for all the doors went out at the same time, id think more of a single control module not killing the power when its suppose to

just my 2 pennies
