Did my brakes again the second time in just under a year and 20,000 kms. This time I used Raybestos Advanced Technology Rotors and Delco ceramic pads

oncase your wondering the part number for the Rotors is 580264 They are a little pricey but carry a one year warranty. No turning.... if they warp they go back.

I bought Delco pads because they also carry a lifetime warranty they wear out i get new ones. lol

So basically i spent 300.00 bucks for the rest of the cars life and I guess that works out to a savings of $600.00 a year since i'm doing brakes on this car every 6 months.

What is up with these brakes??? My brakes are sooo bad on the GXP Pads are glazed and the rotors are indented badly. I mean stopping power is still there but pontiac reminded me again yesturday.

I have a 2005 White Gold GXP. My front rotors are warped also with only 12,000 miles on the car. I am installing new slotted rotors all around and switching to ceramic pads. To bad we can't get Pontiac to foot the bill for this problem. Every time I complained to the dealor I was told the brakes were fine.

IDK guys. I must be lucky or something. I replaced the pads at 18k and now have 52k on the car. My rotors, still original, are in exceptional shape.

I know that the front pads and rotors were done on my car just a few hundred miles before I got it. They were done under warranty with the previous owner. I have put almost 10k miles on it in the last 3 1/2 months and haven't had any problems other than the mass amount of brake dust I get. I plan on upgrading them as soon as they need it. I plan on trying out these pads:

Let me look stupid for a second. Doesn't switching to ceramic pads just ruin stock rotors? I have read about a lot of BC members switching to ceramic, but I thought you needed to do a complete overhaul with better rotors that could handle the heat. Give me some feedback. My GXP has 20K with original stuff but the brake dust is more than I can handle.

I replaced my brakes at 16,000, (Track Day used up 60% of the pads.) I put on ceramics and new front rotors. The car now has 45,000 and the brakes look good.

Alot of ceramic pads now carry a lifetime warranty. My car is going to hit the 20k mile mark on my way down to the Philly Airport tonite to get the wife. Pads look great and the rotors are still fine. And I really use them. Seems to me it'* best to get rid of the OEM pads ASAP. Saves alot of grime on the wheels as well.
