I personally think the Riv has a sexier body, but, as mentioned above, it really comes down to the doors.

Do you hang with more than one friend? Do you double date? Maybe its just age, but four door cars are better for everyday life, depending on your situation.

This to me would be like the question of the century. Im crazy about both of those cars. I got the LSS because at the time a 60,000 mile 97 Aurora or Riv from a dealer would have been even more expensive. I would have gone 4dr because we are a family of 3 and daughter is now teenager, I felt it unfair to expect her to crawl into back seat, so it would have been the Aurora.

On that same Sunday we found the LSS we were in another lot looking at cars that were going for auction next week. There was a guy pulled in in an Aurora and was looking too. I asked his opinion of the car. It wound up he was a dealer, thats how I found out about the cars I was looking at were for a upcomming auction. Anyhow it winds up he drove the Aurora and his wife had a Riv. He liked them both but said the Aurora was no match for the Riviera and his wife would not part with it so he rarely drove it. He said the SC 3800 was the hottest engine on the passenger car market.

This is what you do, its the only answer. BUY THEM BOTH

Good Luck !

get the best of both worlds......cadillac eldorado! more tq than a riv, more top end than a aurora

ive always had a soft spot for black riv'*, NICE cars. one thing i don't like is how every time someone puts rims on them they seem to stick out to far in the front, must have some wierd offset. im sure the riv'* top end pull can easily match a aurora, just do some intake, exhaust and rockers, slap on a 3.4 pully and you'll have GTP/GS numbers, high 14'*, if not better.

but my 2 favorite gm'* are the 2000 monte ss with the razzi body kit (finally a supercharger option!) and the 96 + eldorado ETC

The Aurora is more of a Luxury car than the Riviera is. The Riviera has a better ride to it, but it is softer. Thus, the aurora handles better. out of both of them, the Riviera has more of a 'sporty' design to it while the aurora is pure luxury. The Aurora has more luxury features on it, plus more technology in the interior that the Riviera does not have. The Riviera is more sporty with its two doors and dash setup similar to the 60'* Riviera. I own a riviera and have ridden in an aurora and the Riviera has more grunt to it and is quieter. The 3800 is more reliable than the V8 though, i've heard horror stories about oil leaks on some of the V8'*.
