97 Aurora pace car
See now I'm ticked off again. How with that kind of history, record and a current proven power train can you not be able to market cars sucessfully ? What happened ? Its like a nightmare I just cant wake up from.
They didn't even try Steve...
And and..they only made 15 000 a year...and and and...I don't like the new body style at all..Olds kinda sold out on the uniqueness of it

have you seen the 2001'* in white with dark tint?? i LOVE those, especially the 4.0'*, come with 17'*. the front of them is very unique, there supposed to handle MUCH better, to bad they didn't have a 4.6 option
I used to go for walks at lunch time at our site office and down the road there was a BestBuy distribution centre and each day 2 Auroras were parked there. A 2001 Diamond white on stock 17'* and a 1997 Diamond White on chrome 16s.
As a direct comparision, I and my buddy Marco that would join me both agreed the model that I had was more sleek, and far more attractive.
But thats just me...

I know what you mean Jim, when I read up and saw the first picture of the new model I was bummed. I forget what the publication was but the theme was something like 'Aurora drops the stealth bomber look in favor of a - - - - - ' .I remember thinking "why?". Next thing I knew I was reading "Olds to be cut".
Anyhow when we were shopping two summers ago it was an Olds dealer the LSS was in. It was Sunday so we had no pressure and walked the whole lot. They had Black Onyx, White Diamond, and Green - - - - ?, I found I liked the green best, though I realized it had to be perfectly clean to have that glow it was giving. That day I found acceptance for the new Aurora. It was the direction styling was going in and no where near as extreme as some. Look how fat all the noses are today. I liked the look of the new Dodge trucks when they released them in the early/ mid ninetys or whenever it was but I had no idea that within 10 years every car, truck and "blazer" was going to have that hood and grill
Like I said before I hope to somday have one of each sitting in the driveway. Theres a 95 I drive past everyday, no one wants to buy it, dont know why. Dont understand why the owner isnt driving it, he cant sell it. I looked at it, its perfect but no one was home. One day I went by and someone was looking at it and it was running but they didnt buy it either. Its still there, was all summer. Its Black/Black/ moonroof. Looked very nice, I dont get it, must need some mechanical work, why would they have taken it off road ? Everyone knows its hard to sell a car that a buyer cant take out on the road. Its also of the age thats hard to get a loan for. But I didnt see a dent or a flaw in the interior. Olds have no resale what so ever now.
Anyhow I think this 2001 looks great, I checked out one of the final Auroras also, not my favorite color but the embroidered seats were sharp. DId you ever see the OSV Aurora ?
