Mine is up in 7 months :( i dunno if I'm gonna keep the car after that, most of the common GXP issues didn't happen yet. Something tells me its all gonna go bad when the warranty is over. At a shop rate of $195.00 an hour, i cant afford fixing this car
well, still have my misfire.... I put the new 4 pack on the front four and moved one of the good coils to the 6 spot and it'* still bouncing.....
I've changed the plug and the coil, starting to sound like my engine is toast..... any other suggestions?
someone make sure I replaced number 6,,,,,
facing the engine 1,3,5,7 starting on my left and going to the right
facing the engin 2,4,6,8 starting on my left and going to the right....
also cant get rid of my 171 or 174 codes.... cant find a vacuum leak, anything else gonna cause the fuel lean codes?

When you say facing the engine, I'm assuming your on the passenger side? The rear banks are 1357. Front 2468. I would ohm the coils to find the odd one out. If the installed coils are all good then a coil isn't getting voltage. Time to multimeter things back from the coils.
no venom... when I say facin the engine I am standing in front of the car..... I replaced the front 4 that are easy to get to, and my misfire is still present....., the scan says p0306 which is cylinder 6.....
what order do the back 4 go in when I am facing the engine from the nose of the car.....?
starting on passenger side is that 2468?

The "rear" bank which are against the firewall are the odd ones. 1357. At least thats what I've read. Service literature states the knock sensor is between 1 and 3 in the "rear" bank so I'm making an assumption from that. Sorry I can't be much help here. NorthStar ignition electronics isn't my thing, prolly not for any of us.
If you replaced the entire front bank and still get a misfire and misfire code it'* pretty safe to say it'* not the coil but power going to the coil. The individual control modules lead from each coil to plug. Do the 4 packs come with those attached? Perhaps a bad wire back to the main harness plug or burnt plug. It sucks to have these electronically complicated engines out of warranty and unable to afford a Dealer full scan.....
The beauty of the new bank of coils is it includes a whole new harness.....seems the egg is on my face. I am changing the plug in 6 in the morning. I changed 5 on the firewall side thinking that was 6.oh and my brother-in-law has the big scanner...it wouldn't isolate the cylinder. The cheap autozone one broke it down, imagine that.....will let you know if the plug corrects this in the morning.

All good man, I've wore enough "egg" to make an omelet for a platoon. Let us know how you make out. I hope as we go along here we can learn and compile enough info to actually know and help each other as our LD8'* go into "we pay" the repairs. Mine just left extended warranty with 50k on the speedo. And a bit nervous about it all. It has been a good engine thus far. Especially for the way I've spanked it. ;-P
