been updating my tunes, thought i would post some pics. I can only work a couple hours at a time and have to get the car drivable in-between so its been slow.
replaced kenwoods with 10in kicker comps. I listen to rock mostly so dont need competition level subs.

replaced the mono profile sub amp with pioneer 760w 2ch

replaced crappy 6x9s with polks to match the ones in the front.

replaced clarion dxz845 with cz500 to gain bluetooth and usb.

pic shows why cruchfield says one reason clarions wont fit you have to trim out plastic and bevel the faceplate.
still have alot of finish work to go, cap, working on second amp for polks.

no,no the kenwoods were blown. i just meant that i picked the kicker comps because i dont need a competition level subs. they were buy one get one at best buy.
A long time ago I had my system stolen and I splurged on a new one. I went with my buddy who'* sister was a manager at a best buy location. He went out and picked up the most expensive **** off the shelf. I had told him before how much money I had and I was like wtf these amps are $350 each and the sub is $300 and I would never afford it.
We went up to the register, and that Kenwood KAC-9103D that was listed for $349 MSRP came down to $120, and the other identical two-channel amps went down to $110, each from $350. Got the R12 for $100 down from $300. That was the last car audio part I ever bought from a best buy.

ive been working on the new sub boxes the last couple of weeks. they are going to be two separate sealed 1.5cuft boxes that will fit under the rear deck in the trunk of the monte.
got the 3/4 mdf cutup with the table saw.

cut two of the holes with the plunge router;
gluing the boxes together;

holes cut for the terminals, siliconed up, and glued a bunch of bracing in;

test fitting the speakers and terminals;

as far as i got today, the front panels are 50 percent routed and glued down to the boxes;

got the boxes made and in the car for a few weeks, i dont have pics because they aren't done. i want to take them outside to sand and paint them and its still snowing, but i wanted to see how they sound. i really cant believe the difference the box makes to the sound. now if it ever stops snowing ill take them out and make them look cool too.
