Default WooHoo new speaker day!!

I finally got sick of listening to the crappy stock speakers (took about 2 weeks :P) and ordered some new ones. I didn't want to spend a ton of money, being in college and all kinda restricts the budget. I got some Kicker 2 way 6.5'* for the front doors, and Pioneer 3 way 6x9'* for the rear deck. Ordered from Crutchfield because the prices were actually decent, and they threw in the speaker harnesses for free so I didn't have to cut into the stock wiring. Total was $147 shipped for the 2 sets of speakers and a door panel tool. It took me all of 2 hours to replace all 4 speakers plus pull the radio out and solder some new bulbs in the display to replace the burned out ones. The difference in sound is amazing, even with the stock head unit. Tons more bass from the back, and mids and highs sound great in the front.

For anyone looking to do it, it'* not a hard job at all. Popping the door panels was fairly quick and painless, and with the wiring adapters even a cracked out monkey could hook the speakers up right.

Congrats, I want to do the same to mine someday soon. I've had the stockers for 4 years now, and have wanted to replace mine for a long time.

yeah, it'* pretty amazing how much difference some good aftermarket speakers make compared to even the stock BOSE even with the stock deck and BOSE amp. I have people all the time telling me I need to turn the gain down on the amp for my sub(*). "Sorry- it'* only a $25 pair of Infinity 6x9 3-ways and the rest is as it came from the factory." Is what I tell them so I can see their face go from to :o

The only problem I've found so far, is that apparently the stronger magnets on these speakers are making my compass go retarded. It doesn't even show a direction any more. Anything I can do to fix that? I don't really need the compass at all, its just more of an annoyance than anything.

Thanks. I thought I might have to move it, but then yesterday it just started working like normal again. So who knows I guess. It'* a good thing though because my driver info display deal doesn't work so I can't see anything to reset the compass.
