I need to get new pictures of my boxes...I fancy them.

I was really thinking of doing a glass box especialy since I am getting the grill painted they could spray the leftover paint on that easily.

glass is not that hard to do just takes a lot of time and good tools.

it comes down to a LOT of hours of sanding....which isn't all that fun.

Clean and compact, and yet pretty potent for a single 10". It'* actually a custom enclosure for a '93-'02 F-body, but it sounds better in the trunk of the bonnie than collecting dust in my closet!

GeeZ "BEST BOX" is kinda subjective...

1) Not to impede the pass-thru
2) Handle 2 15" drivers

Now she'* got 2 12" the original 15" infiniti were too tight and hit hard
-- wanted some sloppier bass so a pair of hi-excursion 12 were retrofitted.

Powered by a pair of Power Acoustic (4x600 sub - 2x560 rears)
bolted to the rear seat frame and the sub is bolted directly to the
rear xmember subframe FROM INSIDE so you need access to the
cabin to reach in the pass-thru to unbolt the box....

Not bad for a Fourty something year old fart

All slot routed and joined with glue NO SCREWS from 3/4" mdf
and the driver fastners are stainless T nut'*

HowY You ever get the box metered :?:

Well it was a bear doing the volumetrics thus the reason
it was designed in AutoCad. So the displacement was
matched to the original 15" infinity drivers this was built for.

There is no other way to fit a 15" circle in a space 13" high
than to tilt forward and twist back. "StealthBox" because
it literally looks like a stealth fighter/bomber with all the odd
angles.

For fun we metered the system with a rat shack spl meter
- not any kind of real measurements / conditions - and the
system only hits 142db at 25 on the volume dial with the
original 15" drivers. One amp (4x600) 2 channel bridge
for the box and 2 channels for the rear drivers.
(AND TWO OLD MEN sittin' in it!! w/closed windows)
it don't distort until the dial hits about 28-30 but thats
all relative to the gains - yes....

I've since re-tooled with 12" thumpers driven solely with
the 4 channel in 2x bridge mode feeding each driver and
have another 2x560 running the rear drivers. I did this
more to ease the work on a single amp. The amps are
fan cooled as well.

The volume (CuFt) requirements have changed 'tho and the
tune is off just a bit. Never set about re-tuning the box and it
needs it just a bit.

Yes it'* forward facing.... At my age it'* all about ME and not
impressin' the neighbors. One thing I really like about the bonne'
is its outragously loud IN the car but rather sedate standing outside.

So it'* not incredibly impressive but the fit in the car and keeping
the passthru - security of the amps (FROM WATER!) it suits me well.
When I find some better drivers I'll be back at playin with her.

This system is far from ready for the SPLDragz (still factory fronts!)
