Default what gauge wire to use?

im planning on getting an alpine 12" type R and probly around 400-500 rms mono amp for it.
Also I have a 2 channel 50 rms amp for the 6x9s will 4 gauge from the battery be enough to handle both these amps?
im not going for bass competitions or anything like that just everyday listening.

Also, where is a good place to ground my amps in the trunk?

I think 4 GA is sufficient enough. I recently purchased a 15" Alpine Type "R" and have a 600 watt RMS @ 1 Ohm amp running on 4 Ga wire.

btw... it POUNDS
