I want one because instead of having 17 or 18 songs on a CD, you have many more (not sure how many actually fit...anyone want to help me out here?). My trip to Florida would have been so much better with that 12 disc CD/MP3 player so we could have driven straight through without constantly changing CD'*.

Mike, if you don't get it, I will! (heck, I'll get it whether you do or not...thanks for helping me find my dream system! )

It just means that it can read the MP3 format off of a CD, which is good because MP3 files are much smaller than regular audio files ("wave" is it?) so you can fit a lot more on a CD. Some MP3 players can store uploaded MP3s right on them with no disc, but I doubt many, if any, car players can.

audio compact disk format is CDDA format....
you can upwards of 200 songs on a MP3 CD
the number of songs per MP3 CD is entirly relative to filesize
Alot of electronics that say they can read MP3 CD'* are BS'n, but it'* mostly the low-end taiwan ones

you can only get 20ish songs when burning audio, you need to burn the files straight to get 200+
you can make your own mp3'* using multitudes of software, check download.com
you can, but are stealing if you do, get KaZaA, WinMX, or Morpheus and download popular songs there
i havent stolen my 5K+ MP3s and neither should you.....

If you have CD writing software, it should give you the option to burn data or burn audio

The thing about MP3 format is when you decide to burn MP3 and select AUDIO, it converts the MP3 data to CD audio (.cda file). However, if you select DATA it will write the MP3 format raw (ie no CD audio conversion) thus needing the proper hardware to read the MP3 data after the burning is complete

I use Roxio EZ CD creator and Nero Burning ROM, both seem to work great
