The reason why I went MD over MP3 is:

1) not many people have 'em
2) I like interacting with discs, flipping through binder, putting 'em in and out, jockying 'em around
3) you can't destroy those little buggers...no scratches = happy me
4) small discs

This summer as soon as I earn some money (I'm broke right now...lol) I'm planning on adding the sony 10 disc CD/MP3 changer.

The reason why i went with MP4 over MD is:

1) newer technology
2) heck of a lot cheapers, what are cds now, like free each after rebate
3) get a scratch, make a new one
4) more data per disc
5) can still play in any computer

True...I love MP3'*. You should see my collection...hahaha. That'* partly why I want to get the changer. I'm the kinda guy that wants to have every song that I can at my fingertips in case someone wants to hear it, and MP3 is the way to go in that aspect.

I think the biggest reason I wanted the MD receiver is because no one else has one. I love showing the thing to people...it'* almost as neat as having a mod, where everyone is asking questions and wants to see it and thinks it'* cool

They also just came out with Hi-MD, which is pretty sweet, but still expensive. You can store 45 hours of music (22.5 hrs at a higher quality) on a 1 gig MD. And use the MD player between computers for storage of data.

I'm all for mp3 too. I would have liked to been able to fill a dvd+r with mp3s but that would have cost a little more than I wanted to spend.

On another note, if anyone is thinking about getting satellite radio, I would recommend trying it for a month to see if you like it. I got a free Sirius tuner with my HU and I must say, I really like it. It totally blows FM away as far as clarity goes. Lots of great uncensored channels and sporting events, if you are a sports fan.

The problem with satelite radio is that it'* expensive, sirius more than xm. If I didn't have to suscribe for more than 20/yr, I'd buy it. But shoot, I can mix my own stuff at a higher quality and exactly how I want it for free.

I'm more interested in seeing how HD radio turns out, I guess.
