Default tv monitor

Ok, this summer I am planning alot of long distance trips just to have fun. I want to get a tv to take up some of the time. I am looking into getting a lcd monitor and tv tuner and then I will probably hook up my playstation or buy a cheap car dvd player. Is there anyone here that has done anything like this. All I want to do is mount the tv on a gooseneck mount. Nothing really custom unless I decide to carve into the glove box door. Let me know what you think.

clarion monitor cost $300 on ebay
tuner $150 on ebay
blaupunkt dvd player $179 on crutchfield

There are a number of different monitors and such i can go with but the whole thing would be fairly cheap.

you can get a dvd and monitor for less then $400 at best buy.the monitor detaches from the player and could be attached to the headrest with the supplied mounting straps

I was thinking about something a bit more custom than hanging the tv over the headrest. I want to be able to glance over and see it. I am planning on mounting the ps2 or dvd player inside the glovebox and the tv either on a gooseneck mount or inside the glovebox door.

you can get a BIG ticket for having a monitor on in the front seat while driving.a friend of mine has 2 up front in his sunvisors, and got pulled over while they were on and got a $500 ticket.they can be on in the rear but not the front while driving.

I was thinking about the same thing for my next car. Considering the amount of people that ride in the back seat of my car on a weekend, the TV in the headrests would be nice.

BTW do they ticket GPS equipped cars? Basically its the same thing...or at least the same distraction
