Why don't you just buy an amp with speaker/line level inputs???
It would be more economical...

Yes, you can put the speakers in there. It will not blow your amp.

Just be aware that the Bose amp is tone matched for their speakers, and so adding aftermarket speakers may not sound like the speakers should with a non Bose amp.. I put some $20 Jensen 6x9 3 ways in there with the Bose amp and it sounds great.

Most 4 ohm speakers will work fine with the Bose amp. I have heard the Sony Xplod speakers can lack deep bass though, and since Bose Amps tend to be light on bass anyway, you may have to experiment with different speakers if you want deep bass.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Andrew

Wow, great info! I have been bothered by the lack of bass ever since I bought my Bonnie...my old GP used to sound much better with only 4 speakers so it was quite a dissappointment when I got a car with 8 speakers that sounds worse. :? I will be replacing mine ASAP now that I know it can be done easily.

Thanks!

Hey, No Problems. I went through a lot of stress and antacid to get my stereo sounding good, and it ended up being fixed with a $20 pair of speakers. Mind you, it would probably sound even better with better speakers, but for now I am happy.

If you are unhappy, call Bose automotive and ask for some new speakers. They may just send them to you They have great customer service.

Cheers,

Andrew

Hey JerseyKid,

You will not get deep booming bass from the Bose amp. It is more punchy bass, good for classical music. It will sound great though, just wont boom. I suggest a Sub amp and subwoofer if you want that bass booming.

The Sony Xplod speakers dont have that much bass anyway. They tend to get a crackling sound when the bass is cranked up.

You could call Bose Automotive and mention that your speakers are dead and that you are unhappy, and ask what can they do to help you. Offer to pay shipping if they can do an exchange for you. Be nice to them and you may be rewarded They like to keep their customers happy.

Cheers,

Andrew
