ur deck only has
Three Sets of 4-Volt RCA Preouts (Front, Rear, and Sub) just like mine

what i meant though was at least 4v outputs. but i've never seen a deck/amp combination that takes 16v

I didn’t imply that I did have 16 volt pre-outs; I am aware of the specs of my equipment, after all it’* in my signature. You’d think I would know what I have, but thanks for pointing it out anyway.

Eclipse has for a long time had some of the highest pre-outs available. The owner of the audio shop I frequent has an eclipse with 16volt outputs. Any amp should accept the signal, I think the theory behind it is the AMP doesn’t have to work as hard? or it can amplify even more? Not sure, but here is an Eclipse with 16v

My only point in bringing all this up is 1994SE was looking for a very economical solution (a $3 switch) to suggest that he upgrade his HU so he has on/off control, phase control, and have 4volt outputs, etc. just seems excessive, so I sarcastically suggested a 16volt HU instead...

I am just joking around with ya, hope you don't take me seriously..

alpine mrv-f10008.5 Volt Input Capability

Rockford 1001bd - Voltage -150mV - 6 volts

notice no eclipse amps say they accept the ENORMOUS 16v input capability

i don't think you could physically hear any difference in sound quality of 4-6v preouts

ok but enough thread stealing....goodtimes

yes the eclispe pre out are 16 volts. most amps i have seen will accept as high as 8 but i have seen none that go to 16. as far as the swicth for the subs yes i would place it on the remote turn on wire if your head unit does not do so. i can turn my sub on and off as well as adjust the signal through my headunit. that is the best why if possible
