nice system dude..have you tried seeing what kinda SPL'* your hitting?
Yeah, I didn't consider building a custom box cause I didn't know how, and didn't want a shop to do it for me cause they're so expensive. But I was taken under the wing by a few locals on SMD and they schooled me real quick on building boxes. But for being a prefab, this box is one of the nicest looking and nicest sounding prefabs i've ever heard or seen. I'm very happy with it, but it'* served it'* purpose and now must make way for my 11 ply birch custom box goodness

I didnt know u had a prefab box.. Looks nice and clean. But.... I got you beat, hehehe. subs are dual 2 ohm? 500 rms each? wired to 2 ohm? amp puts out how many watts rms at that impedance?

I thought for sure my sub was failing tonight. I wired the sub up to 4 ohms, and adjusted my gain, so i popped the trunk to see how it was all working. I pressed pause and pushed the sub in and out by hand and it made a knocking feeling and noise, almost like the voice coil had become detached from the cone.
So i took the sub out of the box and brought it inside. when i took the sub out i released half of the screws have been pulled right out of the box. Talk about feeling relieved. sub was fine as far as i can tell. sub was coming right out of the box.

It was my fault... I have taken that sub out of the box several times, and always reused the same holes cause i didnt want to mess the wood up on the mounting service. Time to rotate the sub a little and start new holes and yes... use better screws.

idk about you but every time i ever attach a sub to a box i always used 2 inch galvanized screws..there about an 1/8th inch thick i believe

they never give me any problems

I might use the philips head bolts with the spiked backings/inserts. That way i can reuse the same holes forever. I take my sub out often, so that might be a good idea

Maybe I'm just getting old or something but I don't like setups like that anymore. I used to have one in my Camaro, but now i can't stand when I hear a car coming from a mile away. I want a sub just for low end, but nothing like that.

Yes sir, SubZone prefab. One of my team members was talking mad sh*t when he found out I was going to run a prefab....then he heard my setup....he doesn't talk sh*t anymore

My subs are dual 4'*, wired to 1 ohm, amp does rated power (1500rms) @ 12.6v, my voltage goes no lower than 13.5. I'm not sure what that calculates out to but it'* over 1500rms. Subs are rated at 600rms. How do you have me beat? I guarantee your single 15 isn't louder than my 2 12'*. I have more power than your and more cone area
